IRINGA Region have shortage of 1,581 teachers both in primary and secondary public schools, it has been learned. In the primary deficit is 984 teachers and secondary schools is a shortfall of 597 teachers in science subjects. According to the Iringa Regional Education Officer, Richard Mfugale during the celebration of the Week of Education for the year 2017, the celebration was used to give a new impetus in the development of education, especially the strengthening of the competence of the basics of Reading, Writing and Numeracy. Furthermore, education officer said that the number of teachers in public secondary schools in the region is a total of 3,390 teachers of whom 837 are teachers of science subjects and 2,553 teachers are the  for art subjects. While the number of teachers in government primary schools in the region the region need to have 6,240 teachers, 5,256 existing teachers and 984 teachers are deficient.   Afisa ya Elimu wa Mkoa wa Iringa Richard Mfugale (Picha na Maktaba) Mkoa wa Iringa una upungufu wa walimu 1,581 katika shule za msingi na sekondari kwa shule za Serikali, imefahamika.  Katika shule za msingi upungufu ni walimu 984 na shule za sekondari ni upungufu wa walimu 597 katika masomo ya sayansi.  Hayo yalielezwa hivi karibuni na Afisa Elimu Mkoa wa Iringa, Richard Mfugale wakati wa Maadhimisho ya Wiki ya Elimu kwa mwaka 2017, yanakusudia kutumika kutoa msukumo mpya katika kuendeleza elimu hasa uimarishaji wa umahiri wa misingi ya Kusoma, Kuandika na Kuhesabu (KKK).  Aidha afisa elimu huyo alisema kuwa Idadi ya walimu katika Shule za Sekondari za Serikali Mkoa ni jumla ya walimu 3,390 kati ya hao Walimu 837 ni walimu wa sayansi na walimu 2,553 ni wa masomo ya sanaa.  Wakati idadi ya walimu katika Shule za Msingi za Serikali, mkoa unahitaji kuwa na walimu 6,240, waliopo ni walimu 5,256 na upungufu ni walimu...
