IRINGA Region have shortage of 1,581 teachers both in primary and secondary public schools, it has been learned. In the primary deficit is 984 teachers and secondary schools is a shortfall of 597 teachers in science subjects. According to the Iringa Regional Education Officer, Richard Mfugale during the celebration of the Week of Education for the year 2017, the celebration was used to give a new impetus in the development of education, especially the strengthening of the competence of the basics of Reading, Writing and Numeracy. Furthermore, education officer said that the number of teachers in public secondary schools in the region is a total of 3,390 teachers of whom 837 are teachers of science subjects and 2,553 teachers are the for art subjects.
