CHAMA Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) parliamentary and civic election nomination process took off smoothly in Iringa Urban and Iringa District constituencies in Iringa Region.

The picking up of nomination forms by both parliamentary and ward councilors nominees took off yesterday which saw all the 12 Iringa Urban Constituency parliamentary aspirants collected nomination forms including the incumbent MP Monica Mbega.

The CCM aspirants who collected nomination forms on the first day in Iringa Urban are Dr. Yahya Msigwa, Bennie Mpete, Thomas Kimata, John Kiteve, Fredrick Mwakalebela, and Zuberi Mwachulla.

Others are Dr Raphael Kalinga, Addo Mwasongwe, Chelestino Mofuga and Jessica Msambatavangu.

According to the CCM Party Secretary for Iringa Urban, Raido Utyatya said the exercise very smoothly with the aspirants got the nomination forms at 100,000/- participation fee.

He noted that there were at least 16 members of CCM who announced their intention to contest for the urban constituency but four of them were dropped after going against party rules and regulations.

According to the investigation by this paper, who contacted through the phone the PCCB officer, there were no aspirants found with the practice corruption yet in the region.

In Iringa District, which has only two constituencies namely Kalenga and Ismani few scores of aspirants were seen collecting nomination forms at CCM Party Office.

At kalenga Constituency, Angelus Kisiga, Abbas Kandoro and Dr William Mgimwa collected the nomination forms but Ismani current MP William Lukuvi for Ismani is expecting to pick up the nomination form today.

Meanwhile, Vitus Mushi the Chairman for Contractors Association Tanzania-Iringa Region has also picked up the nomination form vying for Mtwivilla Ward in Iringa Urban Constituency compiting with the incumbent ward councilor Shadrick Mkussa.
