IRINGA MUNCIPALITY on Tuesday was the center of attraction when the residents of municipality flocked and packed full the court to follow the case of the former Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) Executive Secretary, Frederick Mwakalebela appeared in the Resident Magistrate Court of Iringa at Iringa.

Fredrick Mwakalebela appeared again in the Resident Magistrate Court of Iringa at Iringa on Tuesday before Resident Magistrate Festo Lwelu to answer charges of corruption raised against him, with criminal case No.4 of 2010.

Prevention and Combating of Corruption (PCCB) Prosecutor, Prisca Mpeka in collaboration with Imani Nitume before Magistrate Lwelu said Mwakalebela CCM candidate in nomination preferential on that material day was accused giving an advantage contrary to section 15 (1)(b) of PCCB Act No.11 of 2007 and lection Expenses Act No.6 of 2010.

She said that on the material day and date in June 2010 at Mkoga Village within Iringa Municipal in Iringa region being a CCM candidate in the nomination polls process did corruptly give Hamis Luhanga, Chairman for Mkoga Village and advantage of total sum of 100,000/- to be distributed to 30 CCM members who attended the meeting held at Hamis premises.



But the accused has denied his charge and he out on bond after the he had fulfilled all the conditions of bail, of which was supposed to bring two sureties and they have to execute the promise 5m/- each.

Meanwhile, Frederick Mwakalebela and his wife Selina Mwakalebela have appeared in the resident magistrate court of Iringa at Iringa on Tuesday over corruption.

The Prevention and Combating of Corruption-persecutors Prisca Mpeka and Imani Nitume said the Mwakalebela and Selina on that material day and date on 20th July 2010 at Mgongo Village within Iringa Municipality in Iringa Region conducted a meeting at the village where his wife Selina gave 100,000/- to Gwido Sanga so that he can distribute it 22 CCM members who attended the meeting.

However, this the second criminal No. 8/2010 which involves Mwakalebela and Selina his wife did corruptly y give Gwido Sanga total sum of 100,000/- to distribute to 22 members.

In this case two accused denied the charge and both cases No.4/2010 and No.8/2010 will brought to court again on 15th September, 2010 for another mention.

More than 80 CCM members came out to bail out Mwakalebela and Selina and they crowded the court to support although he was eliminated from the race of being an aspirant for Iringa Urban Constituency but the second winner Monica Mbega.

MUCE IMPLEMENTS SH18.6 BILLION PROJECT IN HONOUR OF FATHER OF THE NATION’S VISION
