The directives of reducing fuel prices in the country issued by Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (Ewura) recently have started materializing in Iringa.

According the survey conducted by The Guardian today around the town, fuel traders have started responding to the call of EWURA of reducing fuel prices.

The various petrol stations visited the reported has seen prices of fuel has gone down as compared previously.

For instance, Hope Service Station, Iringa Service Station and TFA Petrol Station one litre of petrol was selling at 2,019/- from 2,093/-, diesel at 1,910/- from 1,973/- and kerosene one litre is sold at 1,897/- from 1,952/-.

Those kinds of pump prices were same almost everywhere in Irnga town.

On his part, the director of Iringa service station, Feisal Abri said reduction fuel prices will benefit consumers mostly than seller because you will sell an old stock which you bought at higher price.

He said also on other hand fuel seller will also have to small capital because he/she was having capital 2bn/- it will reduced to at least 1.5bn-/, so there a relief.

Another manager at TFA Petrol Station, Rudeligo Mpunza said the government has done great job of reducing fuel prices which will also give a consumer a relief.

He said since any economy in the world is driven by fuel it good step ahead to reduce economic pressures on the people hence poverty reduction.

And a casual worker at IringaNet an internet service provider, Hassan Bin Ma’rouf said is good that fuel prices have started going down because it make his business prosper since he is using a generator once there is power cut.
