MUFINDI DISTRICT REVENUE RISES

THE Mufindi District Executive Director (DED), Saada Malunde said revenue has significantly increased from over 2,192,830,130/- billion in 2010/2011 to over 4,146,583,199/- billion in 2014/2015.

The DED of Mufindi District Council (MDC) has issued the statement soon after the dissolution of the House of Councillors officially, which lasted for five years and mentioned several successful harmonizations achieved since its creation in 2010.  

Malunde was presenting reports of the success of her district council during the dissolution of the Mufindi Full Council (Baraza la Madiwani), and cited some of these achievements that have included the establishment of the Mafinga Town Council (MTC) and also the increased revenue collection from more than 2,192 830,130 / - billion in 2010/2011 to reach more than a billion shillings 4,146,583,199/ - in 2014/2015.

She said that the goal of the district council in secondary schools was to ensure all students entering secondary education qualify to Form Four (IV) successfully.

"We have achieved in the year 2014/2015 as a number of secondary schools has increased from 18 up to 57 schools 2015, and the number of students entering Form One has grown from 2,880 in 2010 to reach 4926 in 2015.  Also the number of teachers in secondary schools has increased from 81 in 2010 to reach 887 teachers, including 586 men and 301 women in 2015, "said Malunde.

She said that the council is linked to the national grid and be sure the electricity which is generated by hydro water power in the financial year 2014/2015.

Adding that 13 villages and one neighborhood (kitongoji) benefit from the electricity produced by the private company called "Mwenga Hydro Power" in the Ihanu Ward.

In addition, the project plans to increase access to electricity in 18 villages of the Kibengu Division.

"We have the project managed Rural Electrification Agency (REA) which has begun distributing and set up transmission poles from Mafinga to Sadani, Isalavanu and Igombavanu wards and from Makambako up to Malangali, Ihowanza through Mbaramaziwa Ward, therefore number of villages with electricity will increase in Sadani Division and Malangali after the project finished, "Malunde added.

The executive director also mentioned other achievements that it is the presence of a good network of roads of 1558.3 ​​km coincides with the successful constructing tarmac road of   ten (10) kilometers in the Mafinga Township and the improvement of access to clean and safe drinking water.

She said that the current number of people with access to safe water has increased from 40 percent in 2010 to reach 64 percent in 2014/2015 to the work of the city, while in rural areas the increase has risen from 56 percent to 62.3 percent.

Earlier on, Regional Administrative Secretary of Iringa (RAS), Wamoja Ayubu, on behalf of the Iringa Regional Commissioner (RC), Amina Masena, has urged employees under the director of district council to make right decision based on instructions Regional Administrative Local Government (TAMISEMI) particularly relating to the financing for the entire period that the council will be under the leadership of the district council.
