PM MAJALIWA TO GRACE 'KARIBU KUSINI’ TOURISM EXHIBITION IN IRINGA

Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa is expected to be guest of honour during ‘Karibu Kusini- Tanzania Southern Circuit’ tourism exhibition which will be scheduled to be held at the Kichangani grounds in Iringa municipality, Iringa Region which will be opened on 29.09.2017.


Speaking to journalists today (Monday) Iringa Regional Commissioner Amina Masenza said the tourism exhibition week will begin on 27 September to 02 October 2017.


She said that the southern regions which comprise of Iringa, Njombe, Mbeya, Songwe and Ruvuma in collaboration with the ministry of natural resources and tourism, the small-scale industries organization (SIDO) and various stakeholders organize exhibitions.


Masenza said that in 2009, the Iringa region was appointed by the ministry of tourism as a tourist hub for the southern regions.


She said that as a result of the appointment, the Iringa region has received the honor to prepare for the exhibition.


"The main goal is to announce opportunities and tourist attractions in the southern regions so that citizens and visitors from within and outside know and visit and thus promote tourism in the southern regions of the south," she said.


She mentioned the existing attractions in the southern highlands such as historic, cultural and ecosystems that make unique regions of tourism.


The tourism exhibition will go together with the world tourism day in 2017, as well as exhibitions of entrepreneurship products from the southern regions of southern and southern Tanzania. 


For 2017 the world tourist day is headed by the slogan, "TOURISM IS THE PILLAR OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT."

MUCE IMPLEMENTS SH18.6 BILLION PROJECT IN HONOUR OF FATHER OF THE NATION’S VISION

As Tanzania marks 26 years since the passing of the Father of the Nation, Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere — a passionate advocate for education — Mkwawa University College of Education (MUCE), a constituent college of the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM), continues to successfully implement the Higher Education for Economic Transformation (HEET) Project worth over Sh18.6 billion.
