CHADEMA IN IRINGA REMAINS INTACT DESPITE COUNCILLORS’ RESIGNATION– REV. MSIGWA

IRINGA: The Chama cha Demokrasia na Maendeleo (CHADEMA) in Iringa Urban Constituency says it is intact despite the former ward councillors who are resignation going to Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM).

Iringa Urban Constituency Member of Parliament (MP) Rev. Peter Msigwa (CHADEMA) said yesterday that the party in the constituency is aware that the former ward councilors who were resigning from the party in various wards in the Iringa municipality have been slippery and working in isolation for a long time.

Rev. Msigwa alleged that the constituency is aware that the ward councilors have been having dark corner meetings with unknown people and that their resignations are welcome.

He told TUMBUSI BLOG yesterday during an interview that the party in the constituency will remain strong in ensuring that they deliver development in the municipal council as they promised the people.

He however, expressed concern that the resignation of various wards councilors and some party leaders will delay development especially in the wards they were coming from.

MP Msigwa has since called on party members in the constituency to continue respecting the party chain of command.

He added that the party in the urban constituency is not shaken and that the decision that ward councillors have taken was their personal decision which everyone has the right to.

“Let them get their municipal council (CCM) and all my ward councilors I will remain with Suzana Mgonokulima who is special seat MP for Iringa through CHADEMA…,” sounded Rev. Msigwa.

On Saturday Mwangata Ward Councillor of Iringa Urban, Anjelusi Mbogo and Chadema Party secretary of the Iringa Iringa Region, Oscar Ndale have announced their resignation going Chama cha Mapinduzi (CCM).

Mbogo becomes the seven party ward councilor in the iringa urban constituency (five elected councilors and two special seats) making these decisions within four months.

In the 2015 General Elections, Chadema scooped 14 out of 18 wards and carried Iringa urban constituency into the second round through its candidate, Pastor Peter Msigwa.

Explaining the reasons for resigning, Mbogo said he had failed to endure the leadership violence committed by Pastor Msigwa and Iringa Municipal Mayor.

He said the two leaders lead the party as goddesses, the dictators and untouchable and they reach the point that threatened the party stability and decision within the party and at the party council meetings.

"There is no democracy in Chadema, working under these two people is a problem and self-denial, but if the leaders leave their positions, I am ready to return and become a regular member, "he said.
