SALAMBA OF LIPULI FC SELECTED THE BEST PLAYER OF THE MONTH




Iringa Lipuli FC striker, Adam Salamba (20) has been selected as the best player in March of the VodaCom Premier League (VPL) in Tanzania mainland this season, thus earning Sh1 million together with AZAM Digital TV Set Top Box. 

The striker took the award after defeating his two colleagues, Salum Kimenya who played for Prisons FC and Azam FC goalkeeper Mwadini Ally in a vote by the Premier League Prize Committee. 

Salamba showed great potential and helped his team to win three goals in the 270 minutes he played in successive three games; hence team moved one position from eighth position to seventh position in the VLP standing table. 

Due to the prize victory will be awarded a prize, AZAM Digital TV Set Top box (STB) and one million (1m/-) cash from Vodacom sponsors. In the three games, he led his team to win two games and drew one game. 

On the other hand, Kimenya (Prisons FC) played 269 minutes and scored two goals, enabling Prisons to win two of the three games played drew one game. 

Mwadini (AZAM FC) played 270 minutes in which his team played in March, winning all three games played, remaining in his third position. 

Salamba who is nursing his injury on his left leg ankle after the game against Mwadui FC of Shinyanga told yesterday the Guardian on Sunday that he was happy for been selected the best player of the month (March) in this season. 

Lipuli FC will be playing Singida United FC on Sunday (15.04.2018) at Samora Memorial stadium in Iringa town, and Salamba (striker) is likely to miss the game against Singida due his injuries. 

“Am praying to God that I get well soon so that I can play this important game against Singida United FC…,” he said. 

On his part, Lipuli FC Assistance Coach Seleman Matola also echoed that his team was ready for the game against Singida United of Singida region. 

He said that they make sure the opponent does not penetrate Lipuli FC strong defence at all means and promised to win the games despite some few injuries. 

Lipuli FC Communications Officer Clement Sanga told the TUMBUSI BLOG yesterday at Samora CCM Stadium that his players were fit and ready for game against Singida United. 


He said that his team arrived safely in Iringa town on Friday after played two away games with Mbao FC of Mwanza and Mwadui FC of Shinyanga respectively. 

These are the winners of the Premier League this season 2017/18, which is Emmanuel Okwi of Simba (August), Singida United, Shafiq Batambuze (September) and Yanga striker Obrey Chirwa (October). 

Others are the singer of Singida United, Mudathir Yahya (November), Mwanza FC striker Habibu Kiyombo (December), Simba striker, John Bocco (January) and Yanga midfielder Papy Tshishimbi (February).
